Is it really February 1st? seems yesterday i was toasting the new year and thinking of resolutions.

I am still going festive foods strong with still more to try, does anything change ? lol. However i will continue the review with them but still pending on taste taste. Last year i definitely noticed the lack of new festive Cheeses out and Panettones. Of course Mince Pies in abundance and Crisps and sweets/snacks. I am well stocked for some time with Chocolates from the xmas sale.

Lets get started

Their are at least 6 more boxes of Mince pies to review i am yet to try. The Cherry Rum & Coconut were nice very heavy on the Cherry flavour. The Sticky Toffee pudding ones had a Toffee like sponge on the top were so so. Other 2 still to try.

The Waitrose Heston Mince pies for this year, were a bit controversial including Cheese ! I loved them slightly warmed. But mum was not sure about them. The balance of sweet inside and savoury Cheese Puff pastry was a win for me

Not often i get ready made Christmas puddings, but this sounded really nice. I got it for £4 after Xmas in Morrisons. It was very nice full of Cherry & Amaretto flavour, which i could have as their was no Almonds. I have 2 more puddings to try.

The Gingerbread and Butterscotch pudding was lovely, a mix of warming Ginger sponge and Caramel sauce, deffo have it again.

The salted caramel mini puddings were a one bite dessert, nice but more party snack than dessert. I had seen the M&S Mince Lies advertised but was not paying £10! i got them reduced luckily. They were like a play on a Ferrero rocheo layers of Mousse and wafer/nuts. The Wicked kitchen dessert was mega boozy a great vegan option, which didn’t taste vegan so a good thing. cost me £1

It is the 1st year i only got 1 Panettone, the rest are from Xmas 2021 in the January sales. I find they come into 2 categories when reviewing dry and lots of filling. I have to say was surprised the ones i got from John Lewis were dry as a bone, even though they were past the date. Another one past the date was as soft as it was still in date. I always go for the different flavoured ones but was disappointed with the fillings or lack of. Most got made into Bread and butter puddings or turned into breadcrumbs.

The savoury one i was excited for, but it still had the sweetness about it and a mild cheese flavour so a but off putting for me. Goes to show you that more expensive ones are not always better than cheap ones. M&S ones are good.

Savoury snacks are in abundance at Christmas and their are more to sample than here. I am a sucker for anything festive shaped or themed. I saw the Tree Bread and tear and share Xmas Tree Brioche had to get them!.

Cranberry topped Pork Pies , have to say was not a fan of these ones, they had a vinegary aftertaste not like ones i have had before. How can you go wrong with Sausage rolls, mini or large and festive ! The Turkeys and Stuffing Pasties would probably be better warmed we had them ambient with cold cuts etc on boxing day.

Spotted these on Ocado for £2.50 instead of £10 from M&S so had to order one to try. They are so shiny but it`s all packaging really, they were all nice a bit of luxury for Xmas. I had never even seen them in store before.

I have never been a lover of dry wines, i like my sweet wines so not a fan of Prosecco or Champagne. I had got this actually for 2021 New years eve but it got left, so one year later 2022 had it lol. I liked it as it was sweet and had some festive flavour to it. I should have shook it after i opened it as i got a glass of sediment the next glass.

I will add my reviews on my instagram to the ones i have not mentioned here. Still more festive Crisps, Mince Pies and Puds to try. I aiming to get through them all by Xmas in July well before then hopefully.

Festive Chutneys from Sainsburys to add to my larder. The cranberry Chilli was good and the Stem Ginger was fiery. I am also a sucker for Chutneys as i don`t make them myself as i do my jams. They go great with cold cuts and cheese and Mozzarella dippers!

Am i at the end already?

We spend all year waiting for the holidays and they come quickly and off they go again. September starts the season all the way up to December. And before it is even the year out Easter eggs are going on shelves. Valentines, Mothers Day and Easter. I have some frozen goodies to try party foods and puds and a couple of Turkeys i got cheap for this year maybe!

1st aim is to get through the Mince pie boxes 7 to go through. Having made my own for my markets stalls over Xmas i was Mince pied out. Their was also different favoured Mincemeat out last year, will try to photo that too. I am definitely going to cut back on buying Panettones with all the disappointing ones i have got so far. The wilko one although gone up to £6.50 now from £5 is my fave one, plus comes in a collectable metal tin. I have 4 tins filled with sweeties in a corner.

Well heres to Xmas 2022 and onto 2023 wonder what festive delights awaits us this year!
