People that know me will know i am no stranger  to a bargain item. I either find them and hunt for them or they find me!

The last couple of years i have been able to pick up quite a few bargains post Xmas. I got my 8ft Christmas tree from Argos for £15 last January which was £60 and many many Xmas ornaments. Safe to say i do not need anymore, but will no doubt pick up more this year.

This year i widened my search at stores i do not usually shop at for Xmas items like Topman, Burton, Matalan and John Lewis. I did find a few items via online and now know to keep an eye out for the sales reductions. I was unfortunate with Asda George this year not being able to get anything really in my size besides some home ware items.

HOW CAN I BAG A BARGAIN?

I can honestly say that i happen to stumble upon these deals when out and about. I do plan trips further away especially sometimes. The biggest tip would be to join hotukdeals

people regularly post deals and offers they have got on the forum and when this is a national retailer can almost always mean national prices. Their are posts which are store specific so watch out for them. I have looked at posts and shot out the door with results.

Facebook deal groups are also a great way to be in the know about deals going around.

Remember even though it may be cheap think if you need it ! i buy things often for later use in projects, and buying for gifts is a great way to save and stock up especially for non Xmas related items.

My top stores this year for Xmas sales

  • Debenhams up to 70% off
  • Claires
  • Waitrose
  • Primark
  • Disneystore up to 70% off

So lets begin

PRIMARK

The Glass Harry Potter Baubles have been around for a few years now and at £5 each to fill a tree is a bit pricey. I by chance stumbled upon some and found out they was down to £1 each !! the store only had 8 so got them all. I found  more in other branches including Totenham court road, who tired to tell me they were still £2each. I got 20 altogether for a Harry Potter tree maybe this or next year.

My Christmas Jumper for £1 was £11 i managed to pick up a few of them. However Ladies Jumpers were still £5 and also £3 so must be a department thing.jumper sale

DISNEY STORE

Since i came back from holiday from Disney, i somehow have a renewed love for anything Disney i popped into my local Disney store and saw Xmas ornaments for half price. Although this is still £6.50 it is the cheapest price i can foresee for  them. i got 6 and love them all. Their was some i would have liked but they didn’t have them in stock. Considering the prices in the States these are an absolute steal!

A new player in the Xmas game for me is Waitrose, i visited my local by chance on a day where they was reducing Xmas items to 75% off. Just Mince pies were around after that which soon disappeared

Marks and Spencer

Since i started working and a M&S is in the centre i regularly pop into the food hall and often pick up some reductions. Got some Prosecco Mincemeat for 50p a jar, Red Velvet curd and Sticky Glaze also for 50p. At the time i also got some Chicken in sauce for 25p a can short dated. I guess even though other stuff is expensive decent bargains are also to be found in the food hall when near expiry or on seasonal events.

Sports Direct

It wouldn’t be strange to think that Sports direct  sell only sports stuff, so when i found out they sell Christmas decorations online and jumpers i took a look.

They have a decent sale where Jumpers can go down from the supposed £20 start price to £3 or £4 so have got plenty from there over the last couple of years. This year i also bought some decorations which were lovely. ( didn’t take a photo of them)trex
