This blog is a bit late from my original plan, but here we are!

So another year of Halloween has come and gone and we all get ready for Christmas, here is a look back at what i got up to this Halloween including baked treats and my Halloween themed Afternoon Tea.

THE PURCHASES

Every year Tkmaxx is responsible for me purchasing several items often largish props.

Every year is different from the last and always something that catches your eye, and you frantically search for. Some online from Tkmaxx website and others from Homesense and instore.

The spider stands were from Hobbycraft 50p each as well as the Pumpkin silicone moulds.

poundland

I always without fail find something in Poundland, Spooky socks  headbands and the Skull spoons were from tkmaxx

I was lucky enough to get hold of the Cat on Pumpkin which lights up. I ordered it online so lucky it arrived undamaged unlike some of my other props. The small Pumpkins i looked for  more of but couldnt find.

socks

The collection of Spooky Socks from Boohoo and a flash sale £9.60  for 11 pairs

spooky spatulas

For some reason i decided i needed many spooky spatulas, after seeing them on the Halloween group, one night in  Tkmaxx i got all these in one go

wobblers

The Spooky Wobblers from Poundland purely for my promo shots on Instagram and Facebook, started with one then they rapidly expanded.

tombstone

Light up Tombstone, this was damaged on the way thus the Green paint job  had several chips at the base. From Tkmaxx they never seem to be able to deliver these type decorations undamaged. £20 did get some money back from complaining.

Now this is the one that arrived smashed so much it seemed a write off  was £50 but after Halloween went down to £25 from Tkmaxx. It seemed promising all wrapped in  styrofoam but then i saw the Neck broken  and the ribs cracked beyond repair.

I contacted tkmaxx who eventually gave me a full refund and i began the impossible task of repairing it. It was in so many pieces the Ribs and Back i had to  Gorilla Glue it and was a very stressful afternoon  attempting to fix it and waiting. I did the best i could with the Back and Ribcage   but some pieces i could not find where they went.

A SPOOKY TEA!

As part of my Afternoon Tea project i decided to do a Halloween themed Tea, full of Spooky treats, props and Music.

I did it on my week off from work and as usual filmed it live via Facebook Live.

With an extra spooky guest Barry the Skeleton  set in a Graveyard  with some of my spooky props  Cake stands and Tableware.

I devised a menu of Spooky Treats from Cutters and Moulds i had and bakes i have previously made. Their was plenty left so a lot made its way into work, i sneaked into work to drop them off,  when i returned after my week off was  all gone.

WHAT WOULD I CHANGE?

I think i would downsize  the Cupcakes again to mini ones, as many treats does fill you up. I would downsize the Brownies to my smaller pan. I would have got a bigger backdrop for the background. A fog machine really would have set the scene.  The Bat-tenburg needs to be smaller as well. As usual with so mnay treats i need a bigger stand still lol !

What went well ?

The spooky Scones made with my Skull cutter went well, and i was able to cut them in half easily to fill them. The Blancmange Brains were great, The deadman fingers tasted amzing with the relish. The spooky Meringues with Eyes were incredibly cute.

Overall was quite happy with how it went.
