So It`s National Afternoon Tea week 13th-19th of August

I decided to  do my 2nd Themed Afternoon Tea a Winnie the Pooh themed one.

I had funnily enough had a few pieces from over the years the cutter, mould and Beehive mould so got some extra pieces and pulled it all together into one PLACE. This was filmed via Facebook live for around 15 minutes into the intro

This time around their was not as much interaction as before during the live video.

Sourcing all the items was a little work with the Cups, Mugs and associated items. Some i had found easily than others Hunny Mug from PRIMARK,  Pooh Bear mug from DISNEY STORE, Teapot from Ebay a Cardew Disney piece, Beehive Honey drizzler from TKMAXX

Primark of course had loads of Winnie the Pooh items to choose from, had to restrain myself on some of them.

TROUBLESOME TEAPOTS

The Teapot is a story, i first ordered a small Pooh Bear,  i have no words once again a teapot wrapped in magazines and gift wrap. sent in the post no box or wrap = no more Winnie the pooh teapot! All that was left was the lid

The 2nd Teapot survived but the lid smashed, so i used the smaller lid from the 1st one on the 2nd one. The 3rd one  Tea for one, mum got over a car boot but missing the lid.

I based the menu around the theme of Honey, without making everything  taste the same i diversified it into different themed treats and flavours. I then came up with the Menu and items to make. I needed a new Cake Stand as my previous one was graduated and did not have enough room, i still did not have enough room haha. Or i need smaller treats, mind in this case it has 3 of everything on it for 3 people.

I got some tongs, Milk Jug and Sugar cubes as was missing last time, as well as some general White Plates, Cups and Saucers.

I kept the Sandwiches the same as before, cutting each into 3 thin slices a good blend of colours and variety. I will change them around for the next time, but there will always be  at least some that make the rounds again.

  • Cucumber & Cream Cheese
  • Smoked Salmon
  • Ham & Pickle
  • Cheddar and Tomato relish

SWEET TREATS TIER 1

For the sweet treats i did come up with a fair few, and some that did not make the cut. Trying best to come up with different textures and flavours.

  • Chocolate Honeycomb Oreo Bark  with a Gold dusting
  • Chocolate & Honey Sponge Cake – covered with a Chocolate Honey Glaze
  • Beehive shape Lemon drizzle Cakes with a Lemon & Honey glaze
  • Tigger Swiss rolls – filled with Chantilly Whipped cream
  • 3d Pooh Bear Butter Biscuits

BRING ON THE SCONES

So for the Scone course i decided to make Bear shaped Scones. Changed the recipe and these tasted much better, nice and soft and fluffy.

I paired them with the traditional Jam and Clotted Cream and  a Honey selection for drizzling over. I chose some standard Honey, Orange Blossom and Eucalyptus.

Everyone went for the Honey choice with the Scones which went quite nicely with the Clotted Cream

The biggest mistake was choosing the Honey with Cinnamon, i thought this sounded great but actually tasted like More like MEDICINE! it had a Clove type taste which was similar to cough syrup or ointment!DSC_7903DSC_7892
