September came and went and now only 2 months to xmas !
But September was a memorable month for me and a good one. I won a photoshoot with westfield shopping centre for uploading a photo of my clothing style to twitter and was the last day to enter the comp, thought nothing of it when i entered, later in the day got a tweet to say i had been picked amongst the other winners. The shoot was to be at Shepherds bush Westfield in the luxury section boutiques style lounge, got a timeslot and went along, was very quick snap snap snap. Got a goodie bag full of products creams, lotions, a leather passport cover and would be sent a copy of the photo in the post. Later find it is an a3 print wowsa! and the photo will be on show in Soho square this weekend with the 49 others who were in the comp. Got sent a preview of the photo and quite like it. They asked for a word to describe my style so i chose quirky.

So September was a busy month for me Jam wise for my Jam label business You`re so Jammy Jams, with the biggest event of the year to attend alongside the organisation i volunteer with, i kinda gatecrashed but did ask to go alongside them.
Couple of thousand people attend this event called Countryside live in the lea valley Leyton Marshes, last year i sold 90 jars of jam, since expanding my range i thought i would sell more than last year, but did do well selling 85 so happy with that. I also sold Elderflower Lemonade, biscuits and cake pops and strawberry keyrings. With over 40 flavours in my range is a task remaking them all, some flavours have got the cut as they dont sell well but expanded the range ast the same time. So a lot of preparation before the event with Jam making. I don my Country gent outfit for the weekend also why not !
Before that event i had a smaller jam event to do so that kept me busy also selling 27 jars at that one. A new organisation to me which i was invited to attend Greatfield residents association in East Ham Newham ( East London) i knew a few people from meeting them at another venue.
I got the good news that i will be able to host another party at xmas time with a xmas Pirates theme, with a party grant i applied for, available for people to apply from the council to host community events, so good news and party planner adam into action over the next few months.
I seem to have had a lucky streak in September as i also won 2 tickets to the cake and bake show at Excel London, via the fb comp they had to upload a bake i made following the theme from the Great British Bake off, i had been trying for 3 weeks without luck so glad i won eventually. This also included a masterclass with the dr etker stand. Although the event is in October Friday 2nd. Was a masterclass in colouring buttercream, using their range of gels how to do 2 tone icing in a bag and pipe that onto cupcakes. got to keep the cupcakes and take home the aprons too so that was cool!
Looking round the show was nice, but a lot i have already seen before, the same stands same people who go to the other shows, and products you really can find cheaper on ebay for the same quality. Dad even came as he got sent a link to apply for a free ticket to the show via another show! A lot of the stands were food ones selling their own cakes etc so not of interest to me, thought i might see something but nothing this time.
I enter competitions on facebook quite a bit, you never know your luck! i have won a few that way so do encourage it.
Anyway i enter them and think nothing more of them, you generally either get mentioned on twitter or tagged if you have won by the page, so if i don`t get anything i forget about it, i got a message about winning a free chocolate haunted house lollipop so that was great, hahah i dont even remember entering it, but most just require you to like the page or post, sometimes share, or write a comment on a post. THESE COMPS ARE PURE LUCK so am always happy to win something now and then.

I return to my baking classes in September generally, but this year am a little late due to the Jam event and start back next week. It will be my last 10 week term with my student who i have been teaching for nearly 3 years, so will be sad when it comes to a final end.
End of September brings the Halloween and xmas stuff out so always look forward to the new decorations, tableware out baking stuff!
Got a fab spider stand which i have never ever ever seen anyway in stores here, on ebay luckily won it in an auction and arrived safely as it is porcelain!! they are all in America the good ones and quite pricey too import here. But you never see decent ones here only the disposable card ones.
