At the end of July i organised a community Jungle themed party at the local community centre i volunteer at.
The council give out grants of £250 to host these type of events which you apply for and allowed 2 per year.It`s my 6th one now. I get the opportunity to dress up for the occasion which people who know me know i love. And also running a cake business i get to make a big cake for the occasion and do something i may never get to do.
I enjoy organising them but they do takes months of planning and you never know on the day what will happen. Loads of hours searching ebay and amazon and shops to find props for the parties while staying in budget and finding myself a costume! which isnt always easy.

Includes a Juice bar tiki style with Bongo the monkey on guard with a vast selection of fruit juices on offer and from the drinks fountain too, background music to enhance and create an ambience, there were also motion sensor frogs and tweeting birds around the table. Exotic meat platters where on offer of kangaroo, venison, crocodile, ostritch and went down well with those who tried it.
Both mum and dad got in the act with dressing up as they do, and lots of help from volunteers at the centre to make it happen. The weather was great and a nice atmosphere with people commenting and thanking me for the great day.
I want to go into party planning and sweet buffets and combine the elements of fun , atmosphere, cakes and theatrics which i love to do. Now onto planning the next one.
